This grouping features several authentic WWII photos, personal items and souvenirs relating to Sgt. RENE J. PAQUETTE.

Rene Paquette of  Massachusetts, born August 22, 1922, had a 1 year of college education and his civilian occupation was listed as "statistical clerks and compilers", before he entered the service on December 11, 1942 at Newark, New Jersey.
Rene Paquette, #32598836, took some of his basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina where the 100th Infantry Division was activated on November 15, 1942, and a Supplementary Training Period from January 1944 to September, 1944 at Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, before going to the European Theatre of Operations (ETO). He recieved the "Expert Infantryman Badge" on April 20, 1944 while stationed at Fort Bragg. He was a Sergeant with the 100th Infantry Division, 397th Infantry Regiment, Company A, when he participated in ETO combat areas and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the European – African – Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal, the Distinguished Unit Citation (for 1st Battalion, 397th Regiment actions at Heilbronn, Germany) and the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle (France).
Rene Paquette past away on May 29, 1990.
